Paul is a second-year MPhil student in Patristic Theology. His research examines the intersections of theological anthropology, asceticism, and anagogy in the work of St. Augustine of Hippo and St. Gregory of Nyssa. From the city of Bel Air, Maryland, he was educated at Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee before coming to Oxford. His other academic interests include Platonism, Byzantine history, and political theology.
