Emilio Travieso, SJ, obtained his DPhil from the Oxford Department of International Development in 2018.
His thesis, entitled Reason to Hope: Economic, Social and Ecological Virtuous Circles in Chiapas, Mexico, was supervised by Dr Laura Rival.
Emilio now lives in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he is associate national director of Foi et Joie (a movement for transformative education "starting where the asphalt ends") and researcher/lecturer at the Faculté des Sciences Economiques, Sociales et Politiques of the Université Notre Dame d'Haïti. He remains connected to Campion Hall as an Academic Visitor.
Emilio's current research focuses on "triple bottom line" development and education in Haiti.
