Campion Hall Welcomes New Senior Tutor and Fellow Dr Sarah Apetrei

Sarah Apetrei“I have just joined Campion Hall as Senior Tutor and Fellow, having been an admiring friend of the Hall for nearly twenty years since a graduate student in Oxford.”

Campion Hall is delighted to welcome Dr Sarah Apetrei, who joined us from 1 November as the new Senior Tutor and Fellow in Early Modern Christian Thought and Spirituality. As Senior Tutor, Sarah will play a vital role in overseeing student admissions and monitoring the academic progress of on-course students. Additionally, she will be actively involved in the Hall’s governance and contribute to various aspects of its academic life.

Prior to joining Campion Hall, Sarah served as the Director of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Theology and Religion, and oversaw the challenging task of coordinating support for graduate students during the pandemic crisis. Prior to this, she was engaged in teaching and research in the area of early modern church history.

Sarah also remains active in research on seventeenth-century mysticism and radical religion. Her upcoming book, The Reformation of the Heart: Gender and Radical Theology in the English Revolution, is set to be published by Oxford University Press in January 2024.

A very warm welcome to Sarah and we look forward to benefiting from her wealth of knowledge and experience.
