The latest book by Professor Diarmaid MacCulloch, Lower Than The Angels, A History of Sex and Christianity
On Thursday 7th November we gathered to celebrate and discuss the latest book by Professor Diarmaid MacCulloch, Lower Than The Angels, A History of Sex and Christianity.
Diarmaid was joined by a panel of speakers including Prof Jane Shaw from Harris Manchester College, Dr Austen Ivereigh, and Revd Dr Damian Howard SJ, each offering a distinctive response to the book. Starting from the position that there is no single Christian theology of sex and noting the ways in which relationships and sexual identities have changed over the course of his lifetime, Diarmaid’s presentation led on to an engaging, insightful, and often humorous, discussion.
