Congratulations to Campion Hall’s Fellow Archivist and Senior Research Fellow in Church History, Professor Diarmaid MacCulloch, who was inducted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in July.
Professor MacCulloch chose T S Eliot’s pen from the collection available to new fellows for the ceremony of signing the Society’s Roll Book.
By happy coincidence T S Eliot was a friend of Fr Martin D’Arcy, Master of Campion Hall between 1933 and 1945, and published D’Arcy’s, The Mind and Heart of Love, while he was at Faber and Faber. Eliot visited the Hall in its new Brewer Street location shortly after building work was completed, signing the Hall’s visitor book which is now in our archives.
